I set up an RSS news feed to keep you informed about changes to my website. Not all of them will contain update information for my programmes.
Here is a small collection of programmes, I wrote to ease my days or just for fun. I didn't plan to publish each of them, and they might be quite weird, non-functional for your purpose or too complicated. But they work(ed) for me. So I don't want to hide them :) If any of these links is dead or you have comments regarding the programs, please report to Stefan Huber.
Unless stated otherwise, the programmes are freeware and you can use them as you like. Therefore, they come without any warranty. I can just hope, that they serve you as well as they did to me. I am not responsible for whatever you do with these scripts or what they do to you or your computer respecively.
discontinued
There are also some programmes, I have stopped developing, since there is either no need for them anymore (ipchk, srcman) or they work fine (ddconf).

| ddconf v0.4a (8KB) discontinued |
ddconf is a small package to manage a single subnet network, concerning DNS and DHCP. What it does is configure bind and dhcpd with a given database file. I wrote this tool because I had to manage some networks with DNS and DHCP, where the clients didn't change a great deal. So I decided to make a database (=textfile) where all information about the subnet is stored. Then I needed a script creating all the files needed to get a working internal DNS (and DHCP) server. And voilà, ddconf was born. Prerequisites:
You don't have to build anything, because this is just a perl-script and a textfile (plus README…). You can copy ddconf to any location you like, but I suggest you put it to a place, where only root has access to. If you want to start ddconf without having to specify its full path, just create a link in /usr/sbin, for example. ddconf is still in use, but not being developed any more. |

| ipchk (1KB) discontinued |
ipchk is a small (really small) bash-script, that checks logfiles for a (hardcoded) substring. I needed this to keep track of any logged network-packets in my /var/log/messages. You can count matching lines, print them, specify a filename to write the output to, delete the matching lines. I used it to send an eMail to myself, if there were certain logged TCP-packets, and then delete them from the logfile. I am not responsible, what this script does to you or your system! The bottomline: ipchk is a wrapper for grep :) |
| srcman v0.2 (11KB) discontinued |
srcman is a small Perlscript, assisting in maintaining the tarballs you have installed on your Linuxbox. I haven't been using it for very long, since I moved my Linuxbox to a Debian system. There is no need for srcman anymore. But I have implemented, what I have intended before switching to Debian. That's it. This script is not as powerful as stow is, because I doesn't keep a 'database' with installations. There is just a plain file containing installation and link info. And yes, I once used it. |
