Problem
I upgraded my personal VMWare installation from 1.0.8 to 2.0.
Apart from having to get used to the new web interface, I ran into serious troubles after system upgrades.
In MSIE 8 — I don't know why — I only receive a blank page.
No certificate errors, no source code, nothing.
In Opera, I can't get the console plugin to work at all, as it is not supported.
In Firefox 3.6, I get the following error message:
Solution
The only viable solution for me was to download Firefox 3.5.9. Why do I mention this at all? Because maybe not anyone is aware of PortableApps, where you can download Firefox (and many other programmes) that do not have to be installed at all and can be used from USB devices or as alternate installations. So go and download Firefox Portable 3.5.x from PortableApps.
