About this web site
Tool: dSite
This whole website is the result of my initial longing for a stationary for websites. In the meantime, I have written dSite which itself evolved from my site-script. The programme takes care of the creation of the whole navigation, the page footers and the framework of the web site.
dSite is a standalone application. That means that you do not have to install any database or endure any complicated installation procedure. What you need, though, is some structure for a web site to run this programme. It takes and modifies the files in place. Afterwards, one can upload the modified files to the web server. The web site
My primary objective is to provide content, not design! If you take a look at the source code of this very page, you will not find many superfluous text.
The elements that are there simply give the content structure. Design is not to be found there. That's what CSS is for. So when I am fed up with the colours one day, I simply change one file (the CSS file) and not each and every single HTML file on my site. Ingenious, eh?
The main idea was to create a website that was looking good and still usable in text terminals and hendhelds. That requires not much: Just actually know how to properly use HTML and CSS. I've listed any technology I have used (or not used) in a separate document.
Anyway, I do not care for browsers that cannot deal with CSS properly. For issues that have existed see the historical document of issues.
